In lieu of a traditional science fair project our students have been working very hard on their Rube Goldberg Machines. As we near the end of this project and begin thinking about how we can best display them, it has become clear to us that a night time display is not the best option. Our machines need a lot of attention after each use and team members must be present in order to help maintain the machines while being displayed. As a result, we are moving our Rube Goldberg Showcase from Thursday evening to Friday, March 23rd. Grades K-3 Rube Goldberg Showcase will be in the MPR from 9:30 - 10:15 A.M. Parents and Upper Grade students will have an opportunity to view primary students' machines during this time. Grades 4-6 and PM Kindergarten Rube Goldberg Showcase will be in the MPR from 2:00 P.M - 2:45 P.M. Parents and Primary Grade students will have an opportunity to view primary students' machines during this time. See you there!

This year we are very excited to share with you that every single Norwood Creek student will be participating in this year's Science Fair.... but with a twist! All science fair projects will be completed at school, not at home. Additionally we have decided to shift from the traditional science fair model to a design thinking model. Each class will be creating a machine (or contraption or invention or device or apparatus) that uses a chain reaction to accomplish a very simple task in a very complicated manner. In other words, they will be creating Rube Goldberg Machines! This design challenge will take communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking, all skills that are important at every grade level. We invite you to Save the Date! Friday, March 23rd. Primary Students will displaying their completed projects at 10:00 a.m. in the MPR. Upper Grade students will display their completed projects at 2:00 p.m. in the MPR. See you there!
